Too good to be true

When something is too good to be true: it’s usually not true.

Nothing should feel like it is too good to be true. If it feels that way - it is because subconsciously you know it is not true.

Watched “Don’t worry Darling” on the plane from London to Singapore - a story of a made-up glamour life of a pair of confident and good-looking couple. Everything is seemingly perfect, but very soon she realizes that the world that she lives in is illusional. Their true identities in the real world are not glamour at all. Her perfect husband is actually someone with lots of shame and insecurities - an uncharacteristic weak soul in the real world who looks to escape, and eventually chose to poison his wife for a life of his dream.

This is not the most wonderful film but the story resonates with me. Next time when you feel like something is too good to be true - trust your instinct that it could be a fraud.

Lesson learned.
